You Won’t Believe What This Logistics Team Achieved in Saudi Arabia
In a groundbreaking achievement, Indian company Express Global Logistics (EXG) has set a new precedent in the realm of green energy projects. Recently, EXG successfully transported gigantic modules crucial for a pioneering green hydrogen initiative in Saudi Arabia, with each module weighing a staggering 250 tonnes.
Mind-Boggling Scale and Technology
The extensive project required EXG to move 14 massive modules, each the size of a small building. These remarkable structures measure 50 meters long, 12 meters wide, and 18 meters high, collectively amounting to an astounding 1,500 freight tonnes. The task was accomplished using EXG’s advanced technology, particularly their Megaload fleet consisting of sophisticated Scheuerle self-propelled modular transporters.
Innovative Transportation Methods
EXG employed innovative techniques to achieve this feat. Eight of the colossal modules were expertly transferred onto vessels using the efficient roll-on roll-off (RoRo) method, facilitating a seamless move onto cargo ships. The remaining six modules required a different approach; they were transported to the jetty with specialized units and then hoisted into position using robust crawler cranes. The entire operation showcased EXG’s precise planning and ability to overcome extraordinary logistical challenges.
Strategic Alliances and Future Ambitions
To enhance their operations, EXG formed a significant partnership with Italian company Fagioli, launching the Megaload initiative in early 2023. This strategic alliance aims to elevate their standing in the petrochemical and construction industries, driving forward the vision for sustainable energy solutions.
This remarkable logistics achievement underscores EXG’s commitment to advancing green energy and its expertise in handling monumental engineering tasks.
